Carl Cox – Music is Revolution – Space Ibiza

Sunday, 20 September 2015

Where to begin when it comes to Carl Cox and his concert tour Music is Revolution which is held in the most awarded club in the world Space Ibiza.

During the night I got all sort of ideas for the title of this article… From “This is not just Revolution this is Resolution” over to “There is only one god of techno “, all the way to “A spectacle of sights, sounds and emotions”. But then again there is only one true title for this article “Carl Cox at Space Ibiza”.

Every Tuesday beginning from July 7th at Ibiza’s most awarded club Space, Carl Cox’s Music is Revolution nights have been held. 11 out of 12 parties have now been completed and only one is left for next Tuesday, September 22nd when it will all come to and end to a very successful summer at Space.

For this Music Is Revolution last Tuesday on September 15th Space Ibiza had all 5 floors opened with a featured line up:
•    Discoteca: Carl Cox, Pan-Pot, Jon Rundell;
•    Covered Terrace: Circus Presents Eats Everything, Yousef, David Glass;
•    Sunset Terrace: Ibiza Sonica Presents Pan-Pot (Sunset Set), Karlos Sense and After Dark with Mr. Doris;
•    Premier Etage: Burn Residency Presents Competition Winners;
•    El Salon: Digital Groove Presents Mikey Duncan, Derek McNee, Woody, Birds in The Basement.
Starting at 9PM with Ibiza Sonica crew hosting the Sunset Terrace and doing a live broadcast the night kicked-off. That was the beginning of the night but the true beginning started with the Official Space Ibiza Sunset Boat Party “Float Your Boat” leaving the harbour at 5PM the same day. Headlining Float Your Boat with Jon Rundell and Jason Bye.

At midnight all Space ibiza’s floors have opened and the night got to a whole new level. Jon Rundell warmed up the Main Room starting with tech-house and ended up leaving the heated up floor to Berlin based duo Pan-Pot. Setting the curve for the arrival of Carl Cox during their second set that evening the main room was filled up completely to the last square inch.

The tradition has been set. When the clock ticks 3AM, all the lights turn off, an introduction starts, the backstage crew initiates the spectacle of light, lasers and CO2 while Carl Cox makes the debut behind the decks and adds sound, soul and emotion to the equation. Do not know even how to call it… Is it a show? Is it a spectacle? Is it a …? Well, the name of the evening sums it all up… It’s a Revolution.

Over at the covered Terrace Yousef kicked the floor with his Circus brand. Preceded by David Glass and the headed to a b2b Yousef and Eats Everything. Building the Terrace David brought back quality house and got the hips moving while the set from Yousef and Eats Everything destroyed the Terrace with big House and Tech House tunes coming out of Function-One speakers for nearly 3 hours.

Above the Main room – Premier Etage was left to Burn Residency Henri Matisse and the competition winner Samantha. And to the El Salon floor Digital Groove boys with Birds In The Basement, Derek Mcnee, Woody and Mikey Duncan took the people on to a musical journey.

What a night it was which ended at not 6AM, not 7AM but 8:30AM when Cox hit the combination of reverb, pitch down and volume down keys.

What is there more to expect then to wait for next Tuesday, September 22nd and to relieve the closing of “Music is Revolution” at Space Ibiza with Carl Cox joined by Loco Dice, tINI, Dj Sneak, Monika Kruse and Just Be. Join us for the festivity!  #OhYesOhYes”
